FACEUP PROCESS The head is intially coated with a layer of MSC and then the blushing is airbrushed. The head recieves another layer of MSC coating and then lines (eyebrows/lashes/ect.) are painted with acrylic paint. Another coating of MSC if followed with any final airbrushed blushing and shading. The head is then sealed with a few more coats of MSC. At this point, any glossing and eyelashes will be applied according to the customer's instructions.
Photos will be provided once this process is concluded. At this point the faceup can still be ADDED to, but no elements can be removed or effectively lightened, so PLEASE make sure to make note of any particular design elements you do not wish to be included when you fill out the commission form. There is an opportunity for darkening/lengthening of particular features after the photos have been sent.
If, at this stage, you are completely unhappy with the faceup you have the opportunity to request for it to be entirely repainted ONCE.
Photos can be provided between steps like blushing and lines and glossing for your approval before the paint is sealed, but this will slow down the process extensively! If you choose this method you will NOT have the opportunity to have the faceup entirely redone once it is complete.
The turnaround time between recieving the head in the mail and sending off the finished product will vary depending on the circumstances in which commission slots are open. Generally, I make an effort to take no more than two weeks to complete a faceup. Customers will be informed when they begin the process on what kind of turnaround time they can expect. I make an effort to inform customers in advance if there is some obstacle that will cause a delay in the completion of their order, and I will remain in contact through the process in order to keep customers updated on the progress of their order.
If, for some reason, the faceup chips within three months of completion - without any rough handling on your part - you can ship it back for a free repaint. The faceup will not be exactly the same, but the best effort will be made to imitate the previous faceup. If you have altered the faceup/head at all in this time, or are not the orignal buyer the free repaint will not be offered.
Please do not send photos of other artists' work and ask for a direct copy. I take pride in my process and style, and will not imitate the work of another artist. I encourage you to send photos of other faceups as references for particular shapes, colors, or moods, but I cannot and will not copy directly any other faceup. Please look through the portfolio to get a grasp of the styles I work in and then only commission me if these styles appeal to you.
